Hotels in French Polynesia

This set of of South Pacific islands are a picture of paradise, home to stunningly diverse landscapes, including volcanoes, waterfalls and lagoons. Tahiti, the largest and most popular part of French Polynesia, is the place to be if you want to take up water sports, with surfing, snorkelling and kitesurfing just a few of the activities on offer. The island is also home to the country’s most stunning scenery, with volcanic mountain ranges, the black-sand beach by Pointe Venus Lighthouse and trio of waterfalls known as Les Trois Cascades. Equally popular is the island of Bora Bora, with its world-class scuba diving, luxury hotel resorts and snow-white sands of Marita Beach. Away from the most-inhabited western islands, you can discover the the coral reefs of the Tuamotu Islands, or come face-to-face with wild horses, goats and pigs on Nuka Hiva or Hiva Oa. While resorts are scattered all over French Polynesia, that’s not to say there aren’t other accommodation types on offer. Guest houses, apartments and bungalows are available on most of the major islands, and many offer sea views.
