The main island of Bonaire is world-renowned for its scuba diving and snorkelling sites, with thriving reefs, shipwrecks and turtles just a few of the sights on show. The easy shore diving available make it suitable for all abilities, and currents are rare. The smaller islands of Saint Eustatius and Saba feature equally unspoilt landscapes, historic sites and a wealth of watersports. The dormant volcano of Saba rises steeply from the ocean, giving it a dramatic face that featured as ‘Skull Island’ in the 1933 version of ‘King Kong’. Both islands feature more mesmerising diving spots, and on Saint Eustatius you can take a guided hike up to the 'Quill’, a dormant volcano neighbouring a tropical rainforest. Bonaire provides lots of possibilities where accommodation is concerned, from large resorts to privately owned guest houses. As Saba and Saint Eustatius are small in size, there are less options but you’ll still find the likes of cosy cottages.
