For a big town it lacked a choice of restaurants, we arrived quite late as travelling and nothing was open in town. Actually felt like a ghost town. Good place to stop if travelling ocean road but only need one night there! The Barns where we stayed had a good restaurant that was still open but is 20 min drive from town centre.

Much to see and do within a 100km radius of the city. It is a pity the the Princess Margaret Rose Cave is currently shut and there is no indication about a reopening date. The expected date (End of 2023) is now history. Direction signs should carry this information. Naracoorte Caves excellent. Get directions to "Hells Hole" and go for a short walk, Be amazed! Visitor centre is very helpful. If you are reasonably fit climb Mt Schank and walk the rim of an dormant volcano.

Beautiful area to explore around valley lake. Loved the very steep walking challenge to the castle, incredible views, kids loved the conservation area and playground. Love to come back in summer with the swimmers and kayaks. Short drive from Ballarat! Great day then exploring limestone coast. Loved wondering along commercial street shops. Fantastic. The forests, the blue lake, it's an awesome place to go. Everything you need is there. Sinkhole gardens are amazing . I love the scenery Norway has, and this is about as close to Norway as I'll ever see. Whole family loved it. Definitely go back. Booking.com made it easier for us
